Ralph and Jane - Happy Anniversary - August 23rd, 2007

37 years ago today in Union, Missouri, this beautiful woman...

... married this handsome man....

At St. Joseph's Church, they declared their love . In front of their families, they made a promise to love each other for the rest of their lives. Their four children appreciate that they love each other as much today as they did on their wedding day, 37 years ago.

On their wedding day, I am sure it was hard for Ralph and Jane to imagine what would happen to them over the course of their marriage. They would eventually raise 4 children together, live in 4 states together, travel together, love grand-children together, laugh together & cry together. But the best part of these 37 years: they were together. And they kept their promise of August 23rd, 1970: to love each other.

And there are many more memories still to be made... together.

Thank you, mom & dad, for loving each other. There is no greater gift you could have given us than the love you showed each other. Know that we love you & we are proud to be your children.

Happy Anniversary to the people who raised us: Ralph and Jane.

I am a little concerned with how much time the Ralph and Jane cake topper must have taken you.

Jodi - thank you for your concern. While it is appreciated & understood, it was better than the Ralph & Jane lawn gnomes I had originally made. It took me months to sculpt them & fire them in the kiln.

Are we still that CUTE?! Any inappropriate answers will result in said child being cut from the will. I still have those clothes.I think I bought them either at Bernstein's in Henderson, or at Sears. You just can't get good looking clothes anymore. Does anyone have a picture of my grey liesure suit that I wore to Judy & Dave Struckoff's wedding. I really miss the 70's. Also, I remember that Mom made the embroidered blouse in the basement of Jane Hapeman's house in DeKalb.Obviously, Ben's video editing equipment is working again.
Mom and I started celebrating last weekend, had a great time last night, August 23, and plan to complete our celebrations with some special activities this weekend. We love you, and a wish that we have for each of our children, children in laws, and grandchildren, is that you will be as happy with your lives as we have been with ours! It has been great and we are looking forward to making more wonderful memories with each of you. Love ya, Mom and Dad
