I had a great time with you at Thanksgiving. It was good to see everyone. I especially enjoyed the new family drink created by Jessica, lovingly named "The Stinky Ghost". The recipe (as I remember it) was the following:
- 3 parts Southern Comfort
- 1 part Peach Schnapps
- fill the rest of the shaker with ice & cranberry juice
- shake & serve
So yummy. If any of you were with me right now, I would make us one.
Here is what is going on in my life. Callidus (my company) announced a 10% reduction in work-force. I was not let go. That is good news. Ah, the joys of corporate life.
I am filming a short film with my friend, Owen. You may remember him as the guy who sang my first-dance song, along with his wife, Jodi. This is a short film for a website called Dad Labs. The short film is about a Christmas gone horribly wrong. Dad Labs is an "edgy, fun and informative show dedicated to dads and the women who tolerate/love them". You can see some of Owen's other things like "Conversations with Arden" at this web site:
http://www.dadlabs.com/home/2007/10/17/159-dado-arden-hears-music.html
It is basically Owen interviewing Arden on a tiny couch about music. Jodi Egerton was pregnant with Arden when she & Owen sang my first dance song.
In other Ben-news, I am performing Home Alone at the Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz on 6th Street for the entire month of December. Here is a link to the description of the show & showtimes:

Here is a picture of me, Joe Pesci & Macauley Culkin.
I love you very much. Have a safe & happy Christmas.
Post some pictures from your Christmas break! I would love to see some snow!

Ben - thank goodness you made the cut! So, now the reason for your Pres. jumping ship makes more sense. I was going to make a joke about you just barely making the cut, but then if you lose your job in the future that won't seem so funny.
Here are things I am doing:
1. preparing for an ice storm
2. grading loads of papers and projects
3. trying to get my book order in for next semester, which is WAY late - I probably will be teaching without books at the beginning of next semester
4. fantasizing about two weeks from now when the semester is over
Here's what I am doing!
Let's see...
Friday was my last day of student-teaching hoo ray! Unfortunately I got really sick on my last day to the point of not being able to talk. Went to urgent care where I found out I had strep...then I thought "oh yeah!" it figures I have this since one of my students threw up on the table on tuesday and didn't come to school cause he had strep! Spent Saturday recovering and working at Cherry Bomb. Zach took the LSAT Saturday morning. Went to Denny's with him beforehand and was jealous that I couldn't have "Eggs over My Hammy" (as we like to call it) or a "Denver Scrammble" because of sickness but made it through nonetheless. Zach and I submitted our song late Saturday night to the LOuisville is for Lovers compilation. Then, today, Sunday, we played a show at a Folk Art Festival - Mom and Dad were present! Then, tonight, had my first real meal in three days, I feel much better now, and now I have to write one more paper and two more lessons plans and I will officially be done with my student-teaching paper work! Hooo ray! Then, I will have more time to blog. Double Hoo ray!
