Where should I begin...
Well, our One Small Step CD came in on Saturday. They look really great and Zach and I and Jamie, our friend who is putting out the CD for us, are working on setting up a CD release party sometime in mid-January. We have just been asked to play on our public radio station (our NPR music station) on January 4th. We have to come up with an hour long live performance. However, Zach has planned on taking a class out of town that week so our participation in this event will be pending upon whether or not Zach can get out of the class.
We have updated our myspace page with information on our new album and our album cover. You can see it at www.myspace.com/onesmallstep. The more plays we get the better, so we can trick people into thinking that we are uber-popular! :)
Still working like crazy at Cherry Bomb. We had a really good day yesterday. Tons of people are looking for Christmas gifts. There was one guy who spent $160 on a rap costume for a Christmas party he was going to...that was the strangest purchase of the day.
Here is a picture of our album cover:

Here is the actual CD:
Our friends Matt and Lindsey did the artwork and layout for the cd. You can see more of Matt's work at www.mattdobson.com.
Well, that's about it for now!
Love you guys!

Awesome! That is great news Jess! Keep making stuff! I can not wait to get the new CD! Congratulations & I am super proud of you, Zach, Paul & Jamie. Hooray!
Hooray! Super duper coolio OSS! John said it makes him feel like ginger fried vacation!!!
Ok. Dinosauer parents need to know what a "ginger fried vacation" is!?However, it might be best if we were told off line in case it would embarass us (or maybe our children). Jessica just came in a few minutes ago. She is so busy that even though she is at home, we very seldom see her. She is "transitioning". She doesn't need us as much as she use to- and it is difficult for us. We are sad that we aren't needed as much, but we are very happy that she has matured to the point that she is independent of the "Parental Units". We are very proud of her, as we are proud of all our children. Mom and I got to go and listen to One Small Step at a recent concert. They are Awesome!! We are trying to figure out where the DNA came from for the musical talent! Is there a test we can have performed that will document this? I know that you will all be jealous, but I am sitting here writing this and directly in front of me is the recently released CD! Jessica and Zack give credit to their families, among others, for the album. We are all famous now! It is getting late, so I will bid fond farewell. Take care. Love ya, Mom and Dad
I believe Ginger Fried came from one of John's misunderstandings. He often hears things not as they are said. He heard "ginger fried vacation" instead of something else less memorable and it made us all laugh because it was so silly.
A very recent example of this was the lunch Diana, John and I had with John's grandfather's 94 year old secretary. She took us to a restaurant known for their unique soups. The soup of the day was what John heard as "chicken and bear" - he got really concerned because Maybelle (the secretary) really wanted him to order the soup - it was famous afterall - he kept saying to the waitress - "chicken and bear" - and she would say back "yes, chicken and (what John thought she was saying) bear" - they went back and forth like this four or five times.
I could see the terror in his eyes, he asked, they serve "chicken and bear" soup in Portland? Aren't bears protected or something?" It was then we all realized he was hearing "bear" and not "pear". Chicken and pear soup was the soup of the day.
Ginger fried came from a similar situation, I believe.
