Me in my rockin new snowshoes
Note how hight the snow is on the trees
Jodi's snowshoes in the park by our house overlooking the icey lake (good thing Zach's not doing Polar Plunge right now!)
Pretty Lighthouse on our street in the snow
Yep, snow to my hip. And we even got more after this photo was taken. I've gotten plenty of exercise shoveling.
Okay, I am ashamed that I haven't posted in so long. John and I clearly are having winter depression. My goals = to take my new snowshoes back outside. We have been having negative degree temps regularly. I knew I was a Wisconsinite today when I went to lunch with no coat -- and, I was perfectly comfortable. Silly.

Wow. That is unreal. Is that snow on earth? Crazy! Here are some suggested cures to the winter time blues: 1) trip to Austin, 2) stinky ghosts, 3) Mr. Show, Season 4 on DVD, 4) director's commentaries on Hustle & Flow, 5) two words: sniper rifle, 6) John performs "Bin Laden: The Musical"!
new absurdity = It is 31 degrees and John and I are giddy like it is spring - we have windows open, the front door open (don't worry we've turned the furnace off for a little), I've been doing work outside (shoveling snow and breaking up ice with an ax - I'm sure I turned a few heads in our neighborhood where manual labor is done by hired hands). who knew below freezing could feel so springlike?
